The Ultimate TYPO3 Resource List
By: Virgil Huston
Or at least the start of the ultimate list :-)As I look over the results from our TYPO3 Training Methods Effectiveness Survey and finish up our paper for presenting at T3CON09, I see that there are a lot of methods used to learn TYPO3. Everyone has a different learning style, there is no one correct way and use of multiple methods is the norm.Among those methods are reading or watching online resources such as blogs, wikis, tutorials and articles. Not all learning requires formal courses.But it is not always easy to find the resources you need and they are scattered all over the web. So, we...
Simple JavaScript Regular Expression Usage for Matching Strings

By: Michael Cannon
Sometimes, using JavaScripts own built-in objects really makes life easier for when the inline auto-typing constructs fail.
In the case that lead up to this tip, the typical JavaScript inline regular expression declaration failed for some painful to debug reason. Offender...
var cDay = /DAY/i;
This cDay declaration failed to match strings 'DAY1' and 'DAY2', but did correctly match strings '2DAYS' and '2DAYSNS'.
Coming to the rescue is calling JavaScript RegEx object and using the exec method directly to fire off the regular expression checking with the given string value....

Customize the TYPO3 Workspace Notification Messages

By: Michael Cannon
TYPO3s default Workspace status change notification emails provide the basics of what's needed to be known. Sadly, they're not exactly the prettiest messages around. However, as with most things TYPO3 related, you have some control over the output.
While you do have control over the output, you don't have control over adding or moving data variables around. Those variables are the "%s" string bits below.
To change your TYPO3 Workspace notification message, add the following code to your website's root page TSConfig. Afterwards, edit the text as you need. What's given below is the...
